BTM 2019 will offer new opportunities to more than 500 Costa Rican exporters.

Registration will close next August 16.

San José, August 5, 2019. Over 21 years, the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promotion Office (PROCOMER) has managed to highlight September as the month dedicated to business and new opportunities for the country's export sector through the Buyers Trade Mission (BTM). On the verge of the next trade mission, the most important business event in the Central American region expects to receive more than 250 international buyers from 40 countries, as well as more than 500 Costa Rican exporters.

The large-scale business event held from September 17-19 at the Convention Center of Costa Rica will gather together companies from the agricultural, food and specialized industries sectors.

For Dyalá Jiménez, Minister of Foreign Trade, the BTM has become a symbol of the new opportunities that PROCOMER offers the Costa Rican export sector as part of the commitment that both the institution and the sector have to the country's economic development. "The Promoter has managed to position itself as a strategic partner for both new and established exporters, offering them the possibility to travel the world with their products and demonstrate the quality that makes Costa Rica's goods unique. This trade fair contributes to the diversification of the export supply and the consolidation of new markets for our products,” she added.

For his part, Pedro Beirute Prada, General Manager of PROCOMER, said that the export offer that will be presented in the BTM is a reflection of the axes that make up the Institutional Strategic Plan for the period 2019-2022.

"We want to show that Costa Rica is a country with great vision. We hope that buyers from different parts of the world get to know Costa Rica's export offer, which is characterized by inclusion, innovation and sustainability. BTM is a platform that allows both SMEs and large companies to create and consolidate their businesses, while at the same time validating with international buyers the current trends applicable to their products,” he explained. In addition to the large-scale round of business meetings, participants will be able to take advantage of specialized forums, boardrooms, familiarization tours of production sectors, the exhibition of products in display cases, and the final of the Seedstars entrepreneurship contest, among others.

According to Rebecca Zumbado, Head of Marketing at Callizo Aromas, BTM is a large exhibition window that has allowed their company to have contact with potential customers that otherwise would not have been possible, improving the presentation of the its commercial offer and coordinating visits to the company of customers most interested in its offer.

"Callizo Aromas will participate in the BTM again; on this occasion we hope to have a lot of contact with buyers from Mexico, as by the end of this year the new Callizo Aromas plant will be operating in that country,” she added.
